ステートメント
これまで一貫して自然の中にある風景を主題として制作を行う。自身が見た風景の中で自然が映し出す場面、つまり時間や温度、季節の気配などを包括的に捉え抽象という表現方法で可視化している。自然物に近い顔料や岩絵具を主に使用した幾何学的な形や線の表現は鑑賞者に感覚的な場面記憶を呼び起こす。
そして反復する線を描き起こす行為は記憶を呼び戻す感覚と似ている。
小学校時代星に関する本などを読むことを好み、「星の終わりは星の新たな始まり」という部分で生命は永遠であると捉えた。そして自然界の風景の根底に流れているその永遠を描いている。
また、それぞれの作品は自身のフィルターを通して表現しているが、鑑賞者にとっても各個人の経験を通して見たり感じることができるのではないか。作品を制作することは自分自身に向けてのものでもあり他者への問いかけでもある。作品を通じてコミュニケーションを図っていきたいと考える。
Statement
Throughout her career, she has consistently focused on landscapes found in nature as the subject of her work. She comprehensively captures scenes reflected in nature—such as the passage of time, temperature, and the atmosphere of the seasons—as she observes them, and visualizes them through the medium of abstraction. Her depictions of geometric shapes and lines, created primarily with pigments and mineral paints that closely resemble natural materials, evoke sensory memories of specific scenes in the viewer.
Furthermore, the act of drawing repetitive lines resembles the sensation of recalling memories.
As an elementary school student, she enjoyed reading books about stars, and from the phrase “The end of a star is the beginning of a new star,” she came to understand that life is eternal. She depicts that eternity, which flows at the very foundation of the natural world.
Finally, while each work is expressed through her own filter, she believe viewers can also see and feel them through their own individual experiences. Creating art is both an act directed toward myself and a question posed to others. She hopes to foster communication through her work.
