ステートメント
これまで一貫して自然の中にある風景を主題として制作を行う。自身が見た風景の中で自然が映し出す場面、つまり時間や温度、季節の気配などを包括的に捉え抽象という表現方法で可視化している。自然物に近い顔料や岩絵具を主に使用した幾何学的な形や線の表現は鑑賞者に感覚的な場面記憶を呼び起こす。
このような表現に至る経緯として、韓国の抽象芸術に非常に影響を受けたことが一つとして挙げられる。彼らの作品は哲学的であるだけでなく、形や色の明瞭さ、いわゆる「単色画」と呼ばれる絵画そのものが視覚的に彼らの精神性を意識できるからである。
二つ目として反復する線や形を描き起こす行為は記憶を呼び戻す感覚と似ている。
三つ目として小学校時代は星に関する本などを読むことを好み、「星の終わりは星の新たな始まり」という部分で生命は永遠であると捉え自然界の風景の中に映し出される景色、例えば植物の連続性、波の揺らぎ、水面の反射などに現れていると考えているからである。
最後に、それぞれの作品は自身のフィルターを通して表現しているが、鑑賞者にとっても各個人の経験を通して見たり感じることができるのではないか。作品を制作することは自分自身に向けてのものでもあり他者への問いかけでもある。作品を通じてコミュニケーションを図っていきたいと考える。
Statement
Throughout her career, she has consistently focused on landscapes found in nature as the subject of his work. She comprehensively captures the scenes nature reflects in the landscapes she has witnessed—that is, the atmosphere of time, temperature, and the changing seasons—and visualizes them through the medium of abstraction. Her use of geometric shapes and lines, created primarily with pigments and mineral pigments that closely resemble natural materials, evokes sensory memories of these scenes in the viewer.
One factor leading to this style of expression is the significant influence of Korean abstract art. Their works are not only philosophical but also visually convey their spirituality through the clarity of form and color—specifically, through the paintings themselves, often referred to as “monochrome paintings.”
Secondly, the act of drawing repetitive lines and shapes resembles the sensation of recalling memories.
Thirdly, during elementary school, she enjoyed reading books about stars, and she believes that the idea that “the end of a star is the beginning of a new star”—that life is eternal—is reflected in the landscapes of the natural world,
such as the continuity of plants, the undulation of waves, and the reflections on the water’s surface.
Finally, while each work is expressed through her own filter, she believes viewers can also see and feel them through their own individual experiences. Creating art is both an act directed toward herself and a question posed to others. She hopes to foster communication through her work.
